With over 40 years of pioneering experience in India’s Solar Energy Sector, he is popularly known as “Solar Man” in the Solar Industry Circle and is a recipient of the National Award honoured by the Solar Energy Society of India (SESI).
Starting his career in 1986 after completing his MS at IIT, he and his team have executed around 10+ million litres of solar water heating systems, 1,00,000+ solar street lights, and 1000+ MW projects in Solar Thermal and Solar Photovoltaics (Rooftop & Ground Mount) across India and abroad.
When asked about his experience and splendid contributions towards society, he quoted:
“My passion for serving the society led me to work for an environmental cause for the past three decades. Though solar was an unknown concept in the 80’s, I always emphasized my team to create awareness and educate people on environmental change by harnessing green and clean energy.
Widely appreciated for a global change, solar has become an integral part of our lives now in the 20’s. Moving forward, my next goal is to work for 24×7 solar availability for our future generation through efficient energy storage, which will be the key for 100% transformation to renewable energy viz a sustainable world.”
